Concerns Within My Practice
I encourage you to raise concerns directly when possible. My goal is to address issues promptly, respectfully, and safely.
How to submit a concern:
- Submit a concern via the Contact page and select “File a Complaint” as the subject line.
- Include a brief description of your concern, relevant dates, and any supporting information.
What to expect:
- I will acknowledge your concern within 5 business days.
- I will respond with next steps within 15 business days.
- If the response does not resolve the issue, you may escalate to state or federal agencies.
File a Complaint with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC)
BHEC regulates counseling professionals in Texas and handles complaints about professional conduct or license violations.
Steps:
- Download the BHEC Complaint Form
- Provide a detailed description of your concern.
- Attach any supporting documents.

Complaints filed with BHEC may become part of a public record.
File a HIPAA Privacy Complaint
If your concern involves privacy or security of your health information, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office for Civil Rights.

Complaints must be filed within 180 days of the event.
File a Consumer Complaint with the Texas Attorney General
For concerns involving business practices or privacy of health information, you may file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General:

Complaints submitted to the Attorney General’s office are generally public records.
